Allstate Megastar: Shrikant Agrawal

Shrikant Agrawal

Process Lead, ASPL

I hail from Buldhana, district in Amravati, Maharashtra, belonging to a humble family of 5. While growing up, my parents would make us visit regional heritage sites such as Lonar Lake, Ajanta Caves and explore Maharashtra. After my schooling, I completed my graduation in Computer Science from Amravati and moved to Pune to pursue my Masters in Business Administration - Finance. I started my career with BNY Mellon in 2010, working on Bank Reconciliation and Audits.

I joined Allstate as an Accounting Specialist in 2015 and spent the first twelve months in the Pilot Transition. Following which I got a chance to become a 'Train the Trainer Certified'(TTC) trainer and auditor. As a Process Trainer, I went on to take training sessions on 'US Culture and Insurance' during induction programs.

One of the most efficient projects I worked on was an internal solution to Allstate's processing techniques together with the technology teams based in Bangalore, India and the US. Vidya Srinivasan, Ramesh Subramanian, Murali Krishna Karanam, Jaideep Mullapudi, Jomson George Kutty and Vruthvik Rao from Bangalore and Jan Fedorko — Senior Consultant, Business Process, Ann Chittatil — Consultant, Business Process, Priscilla Murray, Joyce Morgan and Heather Newsome — Accounting Services, Dallas, our onshore partners were simply brilliant to work with. My immediate Manager- Ratish Nair and my manager- Sandeep Parande constantly inspired me to work harder. There was an instance when one of the team leads from a different domain went on leave and I was assigned to lead the team for a month. This opportunity allowed me to contribute beyond my assigned responsibilities. It also gave me a chance to explore various other possibilities in terms of career growth, the scope for improved systems and a better understanding of the domain.

The credit goes to Allstate's constant motivation to help individuals explore work beyond the regular role and provide support with meaningful certifications. I've currently taken up a course on data science, at the University of Malaysia, sponsored by Allstate. Moreover, you can head to any operations or technology team and get a sense of other business areas. This allowed me to approach different teams and I got to know how upstream and downstream businesses get done in India.

In addition to my official roles, I am a member of the Toastmaster Club and Grievance Redressal Committee and I participate in various activities around the year to spread awareness about the respective causes. Allstate enables everyone to think outside the box and ensures that life at the organisation is 'All Work All Play'. With a reasonable work-life balance at hand, I get the needed time to indulge in my hobbies and co-curricular interests. I immensely enjoy reading about upcoming technological advancements in the market. In my free time, I like playing Table Tennis, spending time with my family and going on long drives.

The best moment I had so far was when my team became the proud recipient of 'Innovation of the Year 2017' and 'Reach for the Stars 2017' awards at Allstate which was only possible due to the immense support and hard work everyone put in the projects. I love working at Allstate.
